EMERYVILLE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 28, 1999--
Growing Regional Bank to Offer Competitive New Services With IA's
High-Volume, Scalable Archive System and Applications Including
Internet Inquiry(TM)
M&T Bank, whose parent company, M&T Bank Corp. (NYSE:MTB), is the country's 36th largest regional commercial bank, has chosen IA Corp. (Nasdaq:IACP) to provide an image-based cash management product suite.
IA Corp., a developer of archive and application software solutions for the financial services industry, will provide its CheckVision(R) Archive(TM) as the core system, plus several application solutions including IA CheckVision Internet Inquiry(R), CheckVision Research(TM), CheckVision Delivery(TM), CheckVision CD(TM) and CheckVision ARP(TM) (Account Reconcilement Process).
The new M&T Bank system, based on IA products, will be installed by the second quarter, and will allow the bank to offer a variety of new image-based services to its customers.
"M&T Bank chose IA's CheckVision because of its proven success in the marketplace. IA offers a comprehensive suite of cash management services and has an extensive client list including some of the country's largest banks. For M&T, this means a system that could expand as we grow," said Dean Pavlakis, vice president of cash management at M&T.
"As a growing regional bank that has to compete with much larger institutions, IA's CheckVision Archive and application suite will allow us to position ourselves competitively with new services for our customers."
IA CheckVision Archive can store on-us and transit checks images, as well as other types of transaction information, such as credit and cash tickets, remittance documents and customer statements. This enterprise archival product opens the door to a host of new services and delivery channels, which can help banks improve customer service and create new fee-based offerings to attract and retain new customers.
IA's software works across a number of platforms such as SUN(1) or NCR(1), and is compatible with M&T's Unisys capture platform, while allowing for growth in processing large, complex transactions.
M&T Bank has chosen the following IA CheckVision applications: -0-
-- CheckVision Internet Inquiry -- allows banks and their corporate clients secure access to archived check images via a standard Internet browser, speeding research time and reducing fraud. -- CheckVision Inquiry -- speeds archival research by allowing inquiry and search of millions of check images via Microsoft Windows. -- CheckVision Research -- supports Windows-based and browser-based inquiry and retrieval of check and other bank document images from the Archive by internal or external users. -- CheckVision Delivery -- provides image delivery services by CD-ROM, fax or tape to banks' clients. -- CheckVision ARP (Account Reconcilement Process) -- combines reports from existing ARP and DDA systems with check images for delivery on CD-ROM. The integrated solution provides faster access via PC and simplified customer account reconciliation.

These applications are all built upon IA CheckVision Archive. With CheckVision Archive, banks can store billions of checks and other MICR items, which can be automatically migrated from short- to long-term electronic storage media for quick retrieval. Fronts and backs of check and other images can be viewed remotely from a number of banking centers and branches, as well as customer sites.
This saves the bank days of research time providing same-day or real-time customer response. Customers can have immediate access to check images from their PC, to provide input directly to the bank on exception items or to make pay or no pay decisions online.
"IA's CheckVision Archive and complete suite of applications allow banks like M&T Bank to meet their business objectives," said Bill Hipps, vice president of product marketing at IA Corp. "Our technology gives M&T Bank the ability to provide the most current customer offerings of a national bank, with the personal customer service of a regional bank."
