NSW: Police roll out alcohol awareness campaign across NSW

Police say a campaign aimed at cracking down on the supply of alcohol to minors is
needed to change community attitudes towards drinking.

While the number of minors drinking in pubs and clubs has declined across the state
.. an alarming number of young people are drinking alcohol in parks .. shopping centers
and beaches.

Police Minister MICHAEL DALEY says extra police will patrol areas outside licensed
premises to stem a growing concern that minors are offering money to adults passing by
to buy alcohol for them.

Anyone caught supplying alcohol to a minor will be issued with an on-the-spot fine
of one thousand dollars.
