Fed: States urged to dergulate taxi industry

State and Territory governments have been put on notice to introduce more competition
in their taxi industries.

The National Competition Council (NCC) has found continued protection for the taxi
industry remains one of the biggest obstacles to progress for competition policy.

And it's warning governments could lose part of their competition payments unless they
address the problem.
