Pure, unadulterated modern dance, set to classical and contemporary music, is on tap at Jacob's Pillow this week. After a surprising number of evening-long, intermission-free, mixed-media works this season at the Pillow, Doug Varone and Dancers presents a more traditional-looking program in the Ted Shawn Theatre. The three works include "Castles," set to Sergei Prokofiev's "Waltz Suite, Opus 110"; the duet "Short Story," set to Sergei Rachmaninoff's "Prelude in C"; and "Lux," with music by Philip Glass. In the Doris Duke Theatre, the French-Canadian collective Rubberbandance presents one of those evening-long, mixed-media works: "Punto Ciego," inspired by …
